Chris Maybury, Chairman
Chris Maybury serves as Beacon's non-executive chairman. He comes to Beacon after 10 years with the Institute for International Research (IIR) where he served as chief executive officer. Under his leadership, IIR grew into the world's largest conference and performance improvement company with revenues of US$900 million. Chris retired from IIR after its sale to Informa plc in June 2005. Based in Greenwich, Connecticut, Chris enjoys sailing, car racing and is an avid wine collector and connoisseur. 

Daniel Kirwin, Chief Executive
Daniel Kirwin serves as chief executive of Beacon Events and oversees all aspects of its business. He is a leader of international events having headed up the Institute for International Research's Asian conference and exhibition offices prior to forming Beacon. With more than 15 years of event experience, Daniel is a pioneer in business development having launched more than 150 events around the world. A native of New York, Daniel is a permanent resident of Hong Kong and enjoys international travel and skiing.

Rosalind Wade, General Manager and Project Director
Rosalind Wade is general manager and project director at Beacon Events, responsible for conference production and event planning. Prior to Beacon, Ros had over 15 years experience in the conference industry having worked in London, Singapore and Chicago for a number of leading companies. Rosalind specialises in launching new market-driven events and has well-developed skills in training. After taking a break to complete a second degree in Ayurveda (Indian Traditional Medicine), Rosalind returned "home" to Hong Kong in 2007 where she enjoys yoga and re-exploring the region. 

Geoffrey Ip, General Manager & Business Development Director
Geoffrey Ip is general manager and director of business development and is responsible for Beacon's sales and commercial activities. He has nearly 10 years' experience in the event industry and has been instrumental in developing and launching some of Beacon's most important events, including the Mobility World Congress, iGaming Asia and, most recently the CDMA World Forum. Based in Hong Kong, Geoffrey was educated in Canada and enjoys cigars, recreational boxing and interactive gaming. 

 

Irene Tang, Operations Director
Irene Tang is in charge of the operations and logistics of Beacon's events throughout Asia. She holds a Degree in Travel Industry Management and has more than 10 years' experience in the conference and exhibition industry. Prior to working at Beacon, she was the Operations Director of IIR and organised seminars, conferences and exhibitions across Asia. A new mother, Irene juggles her time between family, travelling and party planning. 

 

Charlie Hastings, Marketing Director
Based in London, Charlie is responsible for Beacon's event marketing and liaising with our UK event partners. He has over 10 years of direct conference and exhibition marketing experience, having worked and launched countless events. Charlie has lived and worked in Dubai, Hong Kong and London and travels extensively to these and other parts of the world. The new father of a baby girl, Charlie is an avid reader and current affairs buff.

Leo Stemp, Conference Director - Telecoms
Leo has responsibility for the research and development of Beacon's extensive range of telecom and IT conferences. Leo honed his research and programme development skills working in London for one of the UK's largest conference and exhibition companies and has worked on numerous projects across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Raised in Cambridge, UK, Leo spent six years working in Japan and, more recently, six months based in Dubai developing conferences for the Middle East market. He now lives in Hong Kong with his wife and young son.
